Indra is Co-initiator of The Alternative UK (AUK) political platform, which was founded in 2017. AUK publishes a Daily Alternative media that acts as new systems convenors and connectors. This includes building Citizen Action Networks (CANs), which connect communities to the cosmo-local solutions already available. Central to the vision of an Alternative politics is the interdependency of the complex individual, the community, and the planet: I – We - World. Indra is concurrently a practicing psycho-social therapist, writer, and journalist (The Guardian, Huffington Post). As founder of the Soft Power Network, she provided consultancy services to the World Economic Forum, Indian, Finnish and Danish governments, NATO, the Scottish Executive, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts amongst others. Her publications Soft Power Agenda, New Times, and Is the Party Over? are available on www.in-draadnan.com. Her book ‘The Politics of Waking Up’ will be published by Perspectiva Press in early 2021.
Indra's Bounce Beyond role
The role of comms in BB is to develop narrative agency. As we move away from old - or Horizon 1 - socio-economic-political systems, identify Horizon 2 and head for Horizon 3, we have to be able to tell a coherent story about the changes occurring and the future that is possible. Specifically we aim to be able to integrate the development occurring at the grassroots with all that is happening at national and international level to bring into being a flourishing cosmolocalism that benefits the largest amount of people in relation to the planet. This will depend upon a flow of information between them where all parties are both contributing information to and learning from a knowledge commons. Our two main vehicles to achieve this will be the BounceBeyond.global website and the Very Connect platform and our early partners are the CoNECTS, which includes the bio-region of Devon.
